The year-long “Uprising 13/13” seminar series explores various modalities of disobedience, revolt, social movement, or other forms of political contestation. Each session will focus on one form of uprising in relation to historical events, from modern revolutionary movements to the Arab Spring and the Dakota Access Pipeline. In this session participants discuss Satyagraha, the policy of non-violent resistance first used by Mohandas Gandhi as a method of gaining political and social reforms.
