Aimee Toner is a sophomore at Barnard College majoring in Ethnomusicology and taking lessons with Professor Linda Chesis through the Manhattan School of Music Lesson Exchange. She participates and performs in Columbia University's Orchestra, Jazz program, and Pops Orchestra. She is also the principal flutist of the New York Youth Symphony for the 2017/18 Season. Aimee is originally from Reston, Virginia, where she studied with Jennifer Lapple and Wendy Lane, performed in the American Youth Orchestra, and taught a private flute studio of seven students.
Melody Tai is a junior at Columbia College majoring in Sustainable Development. She began studying harp with Alexandra Perdew at the age of 10 and has since played on various stages, including at the 57th Grammy Awards with Usher and Stevie Wonder, and as the Principal Harpist for the U.S. West Coast premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Frieze. At Columbia, she participates in CCP concerts, and also performs with other groups on campus such as Orchesis: A Dance Group and the MaMa Project. Melody is originally from Southern California and is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 47.
