This program, located in Paris at Columbia’s Global Center—Reid Hall—is managed in partnership with the Department of History. It is a standalone master’s degree program.

PhD in French

This is a sequential program. Along the way to the PhD, the MA and MPhil degrees are also obtained.

PhD in French with a Certificate in Comparative Literature

This is a sequential program. Along the way to the PhD, the MA and MPhil degrees are obtained. The student must also fulfill ICLS (Institute for Comparative Literature and Society) requirements.
